Human Characters :: Ruby Gillman - Teenage Kraken

Happy to now share some of the background characters I had the opportunity to work on for DreamWorks Animation's Ruby Gillman - Teenage Kraken. This was one of the funnest assignments during my time on #rubygillmanteenagekraken. Part of this task was to help establish the shape language for the generics cast of human characters, but trying to offer as much uniqueness and versatility as I could in 3D form. Offering additional groom and look development, really helps bring another level of fidelity. The concepts were brilliantly created by Timothy Lamb, Willie Real, David Perez and with additional contributions form Avner Geller, and the always amazing Pierre Olivier Vincent, our Production Designer leading the charge. Such an amazing team to work alongside. My goal with any interpretation, is to capture the caricature and essence of each character. I also like to approach these by understanding the primary shapes I need to identify the character with, then work on how secondary shapes are incorporated. Hope you like :)
